About Christ Church On Embassy Row

Christ Church is an international, multi-cultural, multi-generational, interdenominational congregation of Christians united by the love of God. Many who visit for the first time are captivated by the diversity that surrounds them, as well as the warmth and friendliness they experience. All people are welcomed at Christ Church on Embassy Row. Christ Church is a Spirit-filled congregation with a strong focus on Biblical teaching, worship, prayer, hospitality, fellowship, diversity, community, outreach and missions. Among the people of Christ Church there is an intense desire to please God, by knowing the Bible, following Jesus, and being filled with the God’s Holy Spirit.

We are a local community of believers, a microcosm of the global community of all followers of Jesus. Recognizing that the global community of Christians transcends time, locale, and denominational boundaries, we also recognize our need for organizational and spiritual accountability. Therefore we are affiliated with the Assemblies of God. The Assemblies of God is a national and international fellowship of churches, formulated in the early 1900’s for the purpose of preaching the Gospel of Jesus around the world through the power of the Holy Spirit. Christ Church is also in relationship with Project Bridges, a DC metro area fellowship of pastors and churches that fosters unity among churches and provides for strategic collaborative ministry efforts.

The physical location of Christ Church on what is commonly called “Embassy Row” (Massachusetts Avenue) – surrounded by embassies, universities, single homes, apartment buildings, businesses, and of course the leadership center of the United States Government – helps to define not only who we are, but also our vision for ministry.
